Abstract

The production performance and forage quality of 20 maize varieties were comprehensively evaluated from 2021 to 2022, aiming at screening out silage maize varieties suitable for planting in Anding district or similar areas. In 2021, the agronomic traits and forage yield of 20 tested maize varieties were measured, including plant height, stem diameter, leaf number, single plant weight, ear length, ear diameter, and row number per ear. The nutritional components were comprehensively analyzed by membership function method, and the tested varieties were comprehensively evaluated by combining forage relative feeding value (RFV) and forage grading index (GI). Xingzhu 88, Xianyu 1321, Zhongnongda 2118, Jingke silage 516, Jingke 968, Jingjiu silage 16, Tongkang 1, Jingke silage 932, and Xianyu 1225 were preliminarily screened. In 2022, the nine selected varieties were further comprehensively evaluated by the same method. The results showed that Jingke silage 932, Jingke silage 516, Jingjiu silage 16, and Xingzhu88 had good adaptability, excellent agronomic characters and yield, and high relative feeding value, which were suitable for popularization and planting in Anding district or similar areas.
