Abstract

The construction industry is one of the most important industries for the region's long-term economic and social growth. Many Developed and developing countries are now using community development processes to improve economic growth, quality of life, and social welfare in their communities. The purpose of this study is to examine rural people's view of construction project delays as well as the social and economic issues they faced. Rural residents were issued a questionnaire with 21 criteria determined from the literature, and the opinions of rural dwellers were collected and assessed by a questionnaire survey. This study looked at the socio-economic affecting variables based on verified replies from the rural residents. The findings of the study indicated that construction project delays have a detrimental impact on the rural community's socioeconomic situations, which has a direct impact on the rural residents' ability to live a long and healthy life. According to the findings of the study, practitioners in public sector organizations must ensure that the projects are completed on time and at a high standard otherwise, it has severe socio-economic consequences on rural areas.
