Abstract

The cost for repair and maintenance the failure parts due to corrosion has a raised worldwide influence. The steel B500B have been coated with hot dip galvanizing, to offer stability and corrosion protection, via the deposition1 of a thin layers of zinc on the steel by submersion in a molten bath. The mechanical and the fatigue behaviour have been conducting, also scanning electron microscope SEM have been examined after coating the steel, to increase the understanding of the damage and failure of a structural steel, in order to experience such treatment. The rotating bending with R#x003D;-1 have been tested to get the fatigue behaviour. Relations that have been put forward in attempts to mathematically describe the cycle fatigue range of the S#x2013;N curve (by Basquin) are compared to the experimental data.
