Abstract

Modulation known as Filter Bank Multi-Carrier, or FBMC for short, is one of the most important enablers for 5G technology. It is a modulation approach that uses two different techniques to resolve inter-carrier and inter-symbol interference. These methods are known as Frequency Spreading (FS) implementation and Poly Phase (PP) implementation. OFDM makes use of cyclic prefixes for the following reasons: signal resilience, but in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing, they have a few drawbacks that you should be aware of. FBMC is put to use. in order to overcome the drawbacks of OFDM and to save bandwidth. In this study, we compare many aspects of performance in terms of bit error rate comparisons between OFDM and FBMC systems are shown, taking into account both AWGN and doubly frequent-time selective fading channels as well as varying numbers of subcarriers. According to the findings, FBMC is superior than OFDM in the doubly flat fading channel, with an improvement margin that exceeds 22 percent. Additionally, the findings demonstrate that the improvement margin is improved in proportion to the reduction in the number of subcarriers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
