Abstract

At the end of the Eighteenth-Century, the printer Isidoro Hernández Pacheco requested to reprint an old astrological prognostication by Diego Torres Villarroel. The Council of Castile censor delivered an overwhelming denial, showing the change of politics towards almanacs, widely tolerated until 1767. Actually, Pacheco intended to print a plagiarism, attributing to Torres a mocking prognostication by Francisco Robles. We study this case in its various ramifications, including posthumous reception of Torres Villarroel' work. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
