Abstract

The article analyzes the impact of Christianity on the Roman Empire in the 4th and 5th centuries, highlighting how Christians influenced the production of knowledge in various academic disciplines. Legal, theological, military, historical, grammatical, and miscellaneous texts are examined to demonstrate how Christian scholastic practices became the basis for academic elaborations of the time. It also analyzes how these intellectual transformations affected the way books were approached and manuscripts were elaborated. The author concludes that the rise of Christianity in the Roman Empire caused a cultural revolution. [Extracted from the article]
