Abstract
- A 59-year-old woman experienced enteropathy while being treated with olmesartan-medoxomil for hypertension. She was admitted to the hospital with symptoms of diarrhea, abdominal pain, and vomiting after starting the antihypertensive medication. Despite extensive testing, the cause of her chronic diarrhea was not identified, but biopsies revealed inflammation in her stomach and small intestine. The enteropathy was determined to be a result of the olmesartan-medoxomil treatment. After discontinuing the medication, her symptoms improved and her intestinal mucosa returned to normal.
