Abstract
- A 63-year-old man developed osteonecrosis of the femoral head while being treated with prednisone for cronkhite-canada syndrome. He had a history of abdominal trauma, syphilis, bradycardia, varicose veins, and heavy smoking and alcohol consumption. Despite the resolution of his initial symptoms, he developed side effects from the corticosteroids, including osteonecrosis. He was recommended to undergo surgery but refused due to the risks involved. He later developed an infection but recovered after treatment. The dose of prednisone was gradually decreased, and he continued to experience symptoms related to his condition. [Extracted from the article]
