Abstract
- EAFIT University has developed three successful biotechnology projects in Colombia, which include the use of microalgae to capture CO2, bacteria to combat Sigatoka disease in banana crops, and the improvement of natural rubber production in the Bajo Cauca region of Antioquia. These projects demonstrate that biotechnology can be an effective tool for solving social and environmental problems in the country. Additionally, it is mentioned that work is being done to implement a solar-powered oven for rubber drying. Biotechnology has the potential to alter many aspects of human life.
