Abstract
- Gorontalo is a province on the island of Sulawesi that has mangrove forests along the coastal of Tabulo Selatan, Mananggu District, Boalemo Regency. The coastal of Tabulo Selatan is a part of the Tomini Bay area which provides ecological and economic benefits for living things in and around it. One of its ecological functions is as a place for spawning, laying eggs, and nesting various aquatic biota such as Gelodok (Mudskipper Fish). This study aims to determine the Diversity Index, Evenness Index, Abundance Index, and Dominance of Mudskipper Fish species in the coastal mangrove ecosystem of Tabulo Selatan. The method used in this research was a descriptive quantitative method with data collection techniques using a purposive sampling technique. The result of the study found four MudskipperFish species, namely Periopthalmus malaccensis, Periopthalmus gracilis, Periopthalmus pusing, and Periopthalmus kalolo. The number of Mudskipper fish found was 490 individuals. The species with the highest abundance value was Periopthalmus malaccensis with an abundance value of 0.31 which was classified as abundant. The diversity index (H')of Mudskipper Fish, which is 1.17, belongs to the medium category, productivity is moderate, environmental pressure is moderate and the ecosystem is relatively stable. The evenness index is 0.85 with an indication of the presence of Mudskipper species being almost evenly distributed, and the Dominance Index of Mudskipper Fish is 0.36 indicating thatthere are no species that dominate other species.
