The relevance of the engineering and technical solutions implemented at the Branch of Shemyakin–Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences (IBCh RAS), in the 1980s when designing a laboratory building with a vivarium and a nursery of specific pathogen-free (SPF) laboratory animals was discussed.
