Abstract

This article provides an update on a study of foreign pottery found at the temple of Tausert in Egypt. The pottery recovered during the 2013-2015 seasons includes vessels from the Levant, the Aegean, Lower Egypt, and the Western Desert oases. The article discusses three chronological eras of foreign pottery found: Byzantine, Late Period with Phoenician imports, and late New Kingdom with imports from the Levant, the Aegean, and the oases. The distribution and characteristics of the pottery provide insights into the history and activities at the temple of Tausert. Additionally, the document provides information about Oasis Ware, a type of ceramic vessel used to transport wine from the Western Desert oases, which was highly valued by the elites in Egypt.
