Abstract
- A 41-year-old transgender individual who was undergoing hormone replacement therapy with testosterone developed stage IIIA invasive metastatic endometrial adenocarcinoma. The patient had been receiving testosterone injections and anastrozole as hormone replacement therapy. The cancer was discovered after the patient experienced vaginal bleeding and underwent a biopsy. The occurrence of the cancer was attributed to the testosterone treatment. The patient underwent surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, and chose to delay re-initiation of hormone replacement therapy due to concerns about the potential impact on cancer recurrence.
