Abstract

Mining wastewater is air that comes from coal mining activities which include transporting, transporting and stockpiling both in open pit mines and underground mines which can cause the formation of air processing sludge or sludge and acid mine air. At PT. PT. Marunda Grahamineral mine waste water comes from the mining area, including from the ROM, and flows into a settling pond which then flows into the river around the mining area. Mining wastewater in the SP 14 SE pit CTM settling pool has a pH of 5 and a high TSS value of 9,460 mg/l. In this research, quicklime and zeolite were added at doses of 0.1 gr/l, 0.5 gr/l and 0.8 gr/l with the aim of improving the quality of mine wastewater. After experiments were carried out by adding quicklime and zeolite, the quality of mine wastewater met environmental quality standards. However, the reactivity of quicklime is greater than zeolite in improving the quality of mine wastewater. This can be seen from the increase in pH and decrease in Mn content levels. Where with an effective dose of 0.1 gr/l quicklime the pH value which was initially 5 increased to 7.7 and the Mn content which was initially 0.03 mg/l decreased to 0.00 mg/l. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
