Abstract
- Objective To explore the marital adjustment status of infertile couples and analyze inflvencing related factors for obtaining the basis of early intervention during diagnosis and treatment. Methods Total of 413 couples who met the criteria for infertility diagnosis were recruited from a tertiary-level hospital in Anhui Province. The Locke-Wollance Marriage Adjustment Questionnaire (MAT) was used to investigate the marital adjustment status of infertile couples. General data survey, Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) and Psychological Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) were used to investigate the factors related to marital disorders in infertile couples. The risk factors of marital disorder were analyzed by binary logistic regression analysis. Results The proportion of marital disorder in females was 31.9%, which was higher than that in males (20.0%). The infertility caused by female (OR=2.331, 95% CI= 1.160~4.683), living with elders (OR=0.453, 95% CI= 0.284~0.722), poor psychological resilience, and (OR=1.024, 95% CI= 1.008~1.040) lack of social support (OR=1.084, 95% CI=1.041~1.129) were the risk factors for marital disorder in women. Increasing age (OR=0.652, 95% CI=0.432~0.984), poor psychological resilience (OR=1.047, 95% CI=1.025~1.070) and lack of social support (OR=1.070, 95% CI=1.023~1.118) were the risk factors for marital disorder in men. Conclusion The proportion of marital disorders in women is higher than that in men. The factors related to marital disorders are concentrated in individual, family and social aspects. Dual intervention should be carried out to improve the marital quality of patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
