Abstract

This article, titled "Comparative Geometric Analysis: Patellofemoral Instability with Weight-Bearing versus Non-Weight-Bearing Cone-Beam Computed Tomography Images," explores the utility and reliability of conducting geometric analyses on weight-bearing cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images compared to non-weight-bearing CBCT images for patellofemoral instability. The study involved 10 patients who underwent CBCT scans with and without weight-bearing. The measurements focused on parameters related to knee instability, and the results showed high agreement for some measurements, such as patellar scale and trochlear inclination, but poor or negative agreement for others, such as the Insall-Salvati modified index and patellar subluxation. The study suggests that weight-bearing CBCT may be more useful for detecting knee instability. [Extracted from the article]
