Abstract

This article, published in the journal Colorectal Disease, discusses the use of endoluminal surgery as a less invasive alternative for managing complex colonic polyps. The authors present two cases of colonic lesions in different locations that were successfully removed using different endoluminal approaches. The first case involved a 46-year-old woman with a rectosigmoid polyp, which was removed through endoscopic submucosal dissection. The second case involved an 83-year-old woman with an ileocaecal valve polyp, which was removed through hybrid endoscopic submucosal dissection/endoscopic mucosal resection. Both patients had successful outcomes and were discharged without complications. The authors highlight the broad applicability of endoluminal surgery and its potential to improve patient care.
