NOÇÕES DE DEMOCRACIA EM TEMPOS DE DESINFORMAÇÃO: AS DECLARAÇÕES DO MINISTRO DAS COMUNICAÇÕES SOBRE INDÍCIOS DE FRAUDE NO 2° TURNO DAS ELEIÇÕES DE 2022.

The intention of the article is to highlight the institutional role of communication in combating factors that can threaten the integrity of democracy. The empirical object in question is the episode of the press conference organized by the then communications minister, Fabio Faria, on 24/10/2022, when he declared that there was evidence of fraud in the election, on the eve of the elections for the Presidency of the Republic of Brazil. The aim is to analyze how these statements can shake the pillars of democracy: Exactly: classify by content; check for signs of fake news; and identify threats to democracy. To this end, the study relies mainly on Bourdieu, Gomes and Proctor. In the end, the analysis also allowed us to infer that disinformation fosters very important anti-democratic actions.
