Abstract

The article "SYNTHESIS OF BENZODIAZEPINES OF PHARMACOLOGICAL INTEREST THROUGH MULTICOMPONENT REACTIONS" discusses the synthesis of benzodiazepine compounds through multicomponent reactions (MCRs) in organic chemistry. This synthesis has gained prominence due to its pharmacological potential, which includes therapeutic properties such as sedative, hypnotic, anti-helminthic, and anti-inflammatory activity. The study aims to synthesize benzodiazepine derivatives using different catalysts and reaction conditions, aiming to increase the structure-activity relationship in the search for more active compounds. The best synthesis conditions were obtained using imidazole diacid and SnCl2.2H2O as catalysts, with a yield of 22%. The amount of catalyst also influenced the yield, with an increase to 50 mol% resulting in a yield of 51%. These conditions will be applied in the synthesis of different benzodiazepine derivatives.
