IMPLEMENTAÇÃO DE UM PROTOCOLO DE EXTUBAÇÃO EM UMA UNIDADE DE TERAPIA INTENSIVA NEONATAL.

This article describes the implementation of an extubation protocol in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The retrospective study was conducted in a hospital in the northern region of Rio Grande do Sul and collected data from patients who used ventilatory support from March 2022 to March 2023. The protocol included parameters such as FiO2, PEEP, medications, and others. Out of the 106 included patients, 9.4% did not follow the complete protocol, and the extubation failure rate was 5.6%.
