Abstract

The InQuik Bridging System, a semi-modular bridge system invented in Australia, is gaining popularity in the U.S. This system involves a prefabricated formwork tray with reinforcing steel that is filled with concrete on-site to create a fully cast-in-place concrete bridge structure. It has been successfully implemented in Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, where a 30-ft-long, 27-ft-wide bridge was completed in just one month. The system eliminates the need for longitudinal joints required with precast bridges and has been praised for its ease of use and ability to be transported efficiently. InQuik is currently working with individual states to meet their specific requirements and is also exploring opportunities to license the technology in other countries. [Extracted from the article]
