Abstract

The article discusses the concept of "postmigration" as an alternative framework for understanding migration. The author argues that the term "migration" is limited in capturing the complexities of the migration experience and that "postmigration" offers a more comprehensive approach. However, the author also acknowledges two major problems with the postmigration framework: the persistent marginalization of racialized people and the question of its added value to existing critiques of migration scholarship. The author suggests incorporating the concept of the embodiment of inequalities to refine the postmigration framework and calls for further research on the differential impacts of migration on different bodies.
