Abstract

This article, titled "Green Dialysate," discusses the case of a 55-year-old man with end-stage kidney disease who presented to the emergency department with symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and green peritoneal effluent. The patient was diagnosed with peritoneal dialysis-related peritonitis, which was caused by a Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. The peritoneal catheter was withdrawn, and the patient was successfully transferred to intermittent hemodialysis. The article also mentions that green dialysate can be caused by acute or perforated cholecystitis, pseudomonas bacterial infection, or the administration of certain dyes. The study was conducted in accordance with ethical standards, and informed consent was obtained from the participant. [Extracted from the article]
