Abstract

A series of benzamide derivatives containing quinoxaline and benzoxazole fragments were synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR and mass spectra. The antibacterial activity of the synthesized derivatives was tested in vitro against gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial strains using an agar well diffusion assay. The molecular docking study showed good docking scores between –9.85 and –7.8 kcal/mol against DNA gyrase (PDB ID: 4KTN). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
