Abstract
- This article discusses a case of a woman in her 70s with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who developed mycosis fungoides (MF)-like eruptions while being treated with abatacept, a medication used for RA. Abatacept works by blocking co-stimulatory signaling and suppressing activated T cells. The patient's symptoms improved after stopping abatacept. While there have been previous reports of psoriatic lesions associated with abatacept, this is the first report of MF-like eruptions. The article suggests that the dysregulation of co-stimulatory signaling by abatacept may be responsible for the MF-like presentation, but further research is needed to understand the mechanism.
