Abstract

A four-dimensional memristive hyperchaotic system is proposed in this work, implemented in a circuit and displays complex dynamics in multiple dimensions, making it applicable in various fields. The memristor, a new nonlinear circuit element, is suitable for constructing hyperchaotic oscillators with complete control, including amplitude and offset boosting. A voltage range of 0–3 V can be adjusted through directly amplitude control. The range can be expanded to 0–9.96 V by the offset boosting. Chaotic electricity plays a significant role in inhibiting the growth of spherical dendrites at the edge of metal manganese plates, resulting in improved current efficiency (increased from 80.06 % to 82.58 % at a current density of 390 A/m2) and reduced energy consumption (reduced from 6.07 to 5.77 kW·h/kg at a current density of 390 A/m2) as observed in Mn electrodeposition experiments. Furthermore, diverse crystal structures of the electrodeposition products are induced by the chaotic electricity, which were observed by the test of SEM, Raman, XRD, and TEM giving the credit to the modification of the hyperchaotic current during electrolysis.
