The article analyzes the advancement of agrarian capitalism in the western Pampas region of Argentina and its impact on the "puestera" families who practiced goat and sheep farming. The displacement of these families due to the expansion of the agricultural frontier has generated conflicts over land. The case study focuses on three "puestera" families who have resisted through symbolic, social, succession, and economic strategies to preserve their social capital and remain on the land. Despite these strategies, the "puestera" families face high levels of vulnerability and inequality in their struggle to preserve their way of life and cultural identity.
