Abstract

This article explores the synthesis and characterization of furan-based polyamides using a continuous flow system. The researchers successfully synthesized the polyamides without impurities and optimized the synthesis process by adjusting reaction conditions. The resulting polyamides exhibited amorphous characteristics and thermal stability comparable to petroleum-based polyamides. The authors also demonstrated the depolymerization of the polyamides back into their monomers using acid-catalyzed hydrolysis, suggesting that this approach has potential for industrial applications and offers a sustainable alternative to fossil-based polyamides.
