Ações das bibliotecas universitárias de Santa Catarina para o combate à desinformação.

The presented research aimed to verify actions to combat misinformation developed in university libraries in Santa Catarina belonging to institutions linked to the Catarinense Association of Educational Foundations (ACAFE). Furthermore, it is conceptualized misinformation and its presence in digital environments of the libraries studied is identified. The concepts of information, disinformation, fake news, and post-truth are approached. The research is of a basic and descriptive nature, having as methodological procedures the documental survey and the use of a qualitative approach in the analysis of the data collected from sites and social medias of 16 (sixteen) libraries of the ACAFE system. By analyzing two central categories of the research: the presence of libraries on websites and social networks, and actions taken to combat misinformation, the main results indicate that most libraries are active in virtual spaces, but only a small portion of them take actions to combat misinformation. The data allow us to conclude that the mission of university libraries in the mediation of information must be strengthened and encouraged so that they may act mainly in combating misinformation and occupy virtual spaces to better meet the demands of users.
