Abstract

Drone (Unmanned aerial vehicle) is remote controlled aircraft for achieving stable vertical flight using micro controller board and it can be used for various application like surveillance, live streaming, capturing images etc. The work presented here aims on feeding the fishes in sea cage using drone and monitoring the water quality to reduce the manpower and time. A unit made of temperature, turbidity and pH sensors will be attached to the cage which will record the readings from the sensors. These readings can be obtained in the smartphone through an app. Aqua culturist can monitor these readings and take appropriate measures to maintain the quality of water. Feed dispenser tank will be fixed at the bottom of the drone and it will be filled with the small pellets (fish feed). The drone can be directed manually towards the prescribed cage. Feed dispensing will start with the motor controlled by the Arduino microcontroller. Feeding time can be adjusted as per the user need. Aqua culturists can monitor these data to understand the water quality using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. They can also regulate the feeding interval which will eliminate problems such as over-feeding and water pollution [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
