Abstract

The Justice Department has accused Boeing of violating a settlement reached three years ago over its employees' involvement in two fatal crashes of the 737 MAX. Boeing had entered into a form of corporate probation in January 2021 to avoid prosecution, but prosecutors now claim that the company failed to fulfill its obligations under the settlement. The Justice Department has not disclosed the potential punishment Boeing may face, but it could seek to extend probation or seek a guilty plea from the company. Boeing has until June 13 to challenge the department's finding. [Extracted from the article]
