Abstract
- A male neonate developed hypereosinophilia during off-label treatment with daptomycin for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus epidermidis (MRSE) and Staphylococcus capitis endocarditis. He exhibited lack of efficacy during treatment with meropenem and vancomycin for MRSE infection and Staphylococcus capitis endocarditis. The boy experienced complications including fetal bradycardia, respiratory distress syndrome, and septic appearance. After discontinuing vancomycin and meropenem, he was treated with off-label daptomycin, which led to significant improvement but also caused hypereosinophilia. The neonate eventually recovered and showed normal development and growth. [Extracted from the article]
