Uzbekistan seems to be mentioned more often among other Central Asian republics due to significant modification observed in its both domestic and foreign policies. It would be prudent to review Uzbekistan's position within several international organizations operating at regional scale as its geopolitical and geostrategical importance are ascending. The discussion on the possible contributions of both Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on the resolution efforts of country's water based issues and also Uzbekistan's real strategic importance for the two regional organizations at near future constitutes main objective of this paper.
