The researchers conducted interviews with shrimping communities and used mixed methods research to gain a deeper understanding of the issue. The interviews revealed that trust and communication are crucial in building relationships with natural resource users. The article emphasizes the importance of collaboration between shrimpers, Sea Grant agents, and researchers in adapting to regulations and finding solutions to challenges.
