Abstract

Yerba Buena Island, located in the middle of San Francisco Bay, is undergoing a transformation from a transportation hub to a residential enclave. As part of this development, two new parks, Panorama Park and Signal Point, have been designed by Hood Design Studio. These parks offer panoramic views of the bay and are meant to be passive spaces that allow visitors to sit and admire the scenery. The parks also incorporate elements from the island's history, such as a preserved reservoir and a monumental sculpture by Hiroshi Sugimoto. Overall, the parks provide a unique and awe-inspiring experience for visitors to Yerba Buena Island. [Extracted from the article]
