This study addresses some technical aspects related to the use of absorption towers for the retention of sulfur oxides in an aqueous medium with the production of sulfuric acid, with the purpose of preventing the dispersion of those gases in the environment and contributing to reduce anthropic acid precipitation. Discusses the importance of carrying out practical activities exploring this theme for the training of students of the technical chemistry course to better understand this subject that is extremely important in the context of urban climatology for today's society. In addition, it informs the perception of the educated regarding the use of this teaching method, identifying the favoring regarding understanding and commitment to safety and environmental issues.
