Abstract

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched a new investigation into Boeing after the company disclosed that its employees may have skipped inspections on 787 Dreamliners and falsified records. The inspections in question were related to bonding and grounding to reduce electrical hazards near the fuel tanks of the aircraft. It is unclear if any Dreamliners currently in service will need to be pulled out for inspections, but approximately 450 planes could be affected. Boeing has stated that the misconduct did not create an immediate safety issue, and the company has taken corrective action. [Extracted from the article]
