Abstract
- A 20-year-old man with adrenocortical carcinoma and lung and liver metastases exhibited lack of efficacy during treatment with mitotane, carboplatin, and etoposide. The patient had a history of cigarette smoking and marijuana use and presented with new onset heart failure. He received various treatments including etomidate, dexamethasone, furosemide, doxazosin, ketoconazole, and cotrimoxazole. Despite these interventions, there was a continued increase in adrenal mass size, leading to the conclusion that the initial treatment regimen was ineffective. The patient subsequently received treatment with pembrolizumab. [Extracted from the article]
