Abstract

The integration of digital competencies in nursing education and practice is critical in the current context of rapid digitization of the healthcare sector. This article discusses how the adoption of digital technologies is transforming nursing education and practice, highlighting the need for educational policies and programs that promote technological inclusion. Significant challenges are identified, such as the digital divide and variability in digital competencies among professionals, highlighting the importance of close collaboration between educational institutions, professional organizations, and healthcare systems to establish updated standards that reflect required digital competencies. This collaborative approach is crucial to improving the quality of care and equipping nursing professionals to lead in an increasingly technological healthcare environment, ensuring that the profession can adapt and thrive in times of constant change.
