Abstract

This letter is a comment on a study that examined the use of the Holmium: Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet (Ho:YAG) laser with Vapor Tunnel (VT) technology for treating non-complex kidney stones. The authors of the comment raise questions about the characteristics and effectiveness of the VT pulse compared to other pulse modulations. They also discuss the study design and suggest that including consecutive patients and comparing the VT group with a different laser source would have been beneficial. The authors conclude that further clinical studies are needed to confirm the findings and compare VT with other laser modes. [Extracted from the article]
