Abstract
- A large cohort study published in the Journal of Diabetes investigated the association between sleep patterns and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) mortality among individuals with diabetes. The study found that a healthy sleep score was linearly related to a lower risk of AMI mortality in people with diabetes. Adequate sleep duration was specifically associated with the lowest risk of AMI mortality. The study used data from the UK Biobank cohort study and adjusted for important covariates such as smoking and physical activity. The findings suggest that promoting healthy sleep patterns may have a protective effect against AMI mortality in individuals with diabetes. [Extracted from the article]
