PENGARUH DERAJAT KEPARAHAN TERHADAP KEJADIAN RESISTENSI DOKSISIKLIN PADA PENDERITA AKNE VULGARIS.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of acne vulgaris (AV) severity on the incidence of doxycycline antibiotic resistance in Cutibacterium acnes bacteria. This study was an analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design located at the skin and genital polyclinic of Dr. Moewardi Hospital, from August to September 2023. The subjects in this study were patients with moderate-severe AV. The severity of AV was assessed using the Global Acne Grading System (GAGS) scoring system, while the incidence of doxycycline resistance was assessed using the disc diffusion method. There were 31 subjects in this study with moderate-severe AV. There were 3 subjects (9.68%) who experienced doxycycline resistance. The results of data analysis showed that there was a significant effect of AV severity on the incidence of doxycycline resistance in C. acnes (p = 0.041). In general, it can be concluded that the severity of AV affects the onset of doxycycline resistance in C. acnes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
