Abstract

This article focuses on the improved order book and productivity gains in the aerospace sector of Great Britain. British defense and commercial aerospace companies are getting benefits from market upturn. The Society of British Aerospace Cos.' annual check of the sector shows it in comparatively robust health. Sales are at their highest since 1998, although turnover is below that of 2001. The British aerospace sector recorded a 28% increase in orders compared with 2003, with the figure up to 22.6 billion pounds. Productivity among the aerospace sector's 114,345 employees also rose 7.8%, while the overall number of personnel employed fell by 6%.
