Abstract

This document provides an overview of the use of Rasch analysis in the development and evaluation of measurement scales in psychosomatic medicine. Rasch analysis is a statistical method that allows for the measurement of structural validity in clinimetric measures. It considers the contributions of individual items to measuring the underlying trait and supports the differentiation of symptoms based on severity. The document explains the Rasch model and its application in psychological and psychiatric assessments, as well as the key outputs of Rasch analysis and reasons for inadequate fit to the model. It emphasizes the importance of using Rasch analysis appropriately in measure development. [Extracted from the article]
