Abstract

This article discusses the use of colon capsule endoscopy (CCE) as an alternative to CT colonography (CTC) for patients who have had an incomplete colonoscopy. The study found that CCE had comparable diagnostic yields to CTC, but lower completion rates. The researchers reviewed the clinical indications and patient history of 99 patients on the CTC waiting list and found that 41 were eligible for CCE. Of those, 21 patients underwent CCE, with 71% of them being successful and subsequently removed from the CTC waiting list. The study concludes that careful patient selection is important to improve completion rates and reduce unnecessary CTCs and colonoscopies. [Extracted from the article]
