Abstract
- This article, published in the journal Endoscopy, discusses the endoscopic approach to treating pyloric dysfunction after esophagectomy. Pyloric dysfunctions are common adverse effects of esophagectomies and can significantly impact a patient's quality of life. The study evaluates the efficacy of different endoscopic therapies, such as pneumatic dilation, botulinum toxin injection, G-POEM, and biodegradable stents, in improving symptoms and the Gastric Outlet Obstruction Scoring System (GOOSS) at one month. The results suggest that the endoscopic approach with botulinum toxin and biodegradable stents is effective and safe, although durability may be limited. However, the study's small sample size limits the conclusions that can be drawn. [Extracted from the article]
