Abstract

This article discusses the synthesis of new 4-thiazolidinones with a fructose scaffold through a microwave-assisted cascade multicomponent reaction. The study focuses on the incorporation of carbohydrates in the synthesis of bioactive molecules and drugs, as well as the design of new green methodologies for the preparation of pharmacologically valuable structural motifs. The article provides detailed information on the experimental procedures and results, including yields and analysis of the synthesized compounds. The compounds were also tested for their inhibitory activity against FXa blood protein, with moderate inhibitory efficiency observed. The authors conclude that this synthetic strategy is a promising method for accessing pure and interesting stereoisomeric macromolecules. [Extracted from the article]
