Abstract
- This article from Sky & Telescope discusses three globular star clusters in the constellation Hercules: M13, M92, and NGC 6229. M13, also known as the Great Cluster, is the most well-known and can be seen even under suburban skies. It is a cosmic hive of ancient suns and can be observed with a 4-inch telescope. M92 is less prominent but still a substantial target, and NGC 6229 is a dimmer cluster that can be detected with backyard instruments. The article provides instructions for locating these clusters in the night sky and describes the observations that can be made with different telescope sizes. [Extracted from the article]
