Abstract

Jim Rossberg, a prominent figure in the field of structural engineering, passed away at the age of 65. He played a significant role in expanding the scope of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and was instrumental in the growth of the ASCE's Structural Engineering Institute (SEI), which now boasts 30,000 members. Rossberg also contributed to various disaster response teams, including those involved in assessing the World Trade Center after the 9/11 attacks and the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.
