Abstract

Microsoft and Quantinuum claim to have developed a highly reliable quantum computer that can correct its own errors. This advancement could bring practical quantum computers closer to reality. The researchers ran over 14,000 computational routines on the quantum processor without a single error. By creating logical qubits, the researchers were able to repeatedly detect and correct errors, resulting in significantly fewer errors compared to ungrouped qubits. While some experts consider this a significant advance, more details on the experiment are needed to qualify it as a breakthrough. [Extracted from the article]
